Trustees
Tony Giddings
Tony is the finance director for the family business and works with
his father,
two brothers and his sister, which means that he says what he thinks and does
not suffer bureaucracy gladly!
Tony is a member of the Prosthetic Strategic Supply Group (PSSG), which is an
organisation that brings together stakeholders in the NHS Limb Deficiency
Service, including commissioners, managers, clinicians, contractors and user
representative organisations.
He is also a trustee of the Winchester & District Sports Association for the
Disabled (WADSAD), a charity providing sporting opportunities for the
physically, visually, hearing and learning impaired. WADSAD is also instrumental
in the formation and running of the Wessex Wyverns Swimming Squad, which
provides young disabled people with an opportunity to take part in competitive
swimming, including galas, national and international competitions.
Mandy Giddings
As a woman, Mandy is fully capable of multitasking, she is a full-time mum,
charity director, part-time school librarian and competition manager for the
Wessex Wyverns.
A former personal assistant, she is well equipped to deal with the day to day
running of the office as well as all of her other commitments. Mandy is usually
the first point of contact for people calling the charity - but don't let that
put you off!
As the mum of an amputee, she has a personal understanding of the challenges
that limb loss and limb deficiency adds to family life. She usually has the
answers to the 101 questions that parents have about everyday life with an
impaired child, and if not, can normally find the answer.
Bob Senior, FCA
Bob is
married with one daughter and is a chartered accountant, but don't hold that against him! He is a past
member of Round Table, until he got too old! He tries to keep
things calm, but is not always successful when red tape really gets going.
Eur.Ing. Geoff Wharam, C.Eng, Dip.E.E. M.I.E.E.
After several years working the electronic industry for a number of
companies, Geoff emigrated from Yorkshire 30 years ago to take up a post in the
'Sunny South' as a Senior Lecturer in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. He
is a family man with two children -- an unmarried daughter living nearby, and a
married son with two children living in New Zealand. Geoff has always had a keen
interest in theatre and is still an active member of a local amateur society.
Now retired, he believes that you should make the most of life and has a keen
interest
in the finer things in life, such as good food, good wine and holidays.
